Students in PreK-12 grade who choose to do Online Learning will be assigned a device to use from home.
For the first few weeks of the year (Aug. 17-Sept. 14), every student participating in On-Campus Learning will be issued a Chromebook to use from home.Once On-Campus learning begins on the A/B schedule, students will be expected to take their devices home with them at the end of each instructional day. When students in grades K-8 begin a regular five-day week schedule on campus (Sept. 14), students in grades 3-8 will be expected to take their devices home with them at the end of each instructional day. High school students will remain on an A/B schedule and will be required to take their device home each day. Students in grades K-2 will use the same device each day in the classroom, and unless otherwise specified, those devices should remain in the classroom.
All back-to-school documents must be completed in Skyward prior to being issued a Chromebook. Paperwork can be completed using the online portal here.
All students, whether returning or new, must complete registration through the district’s online portal on the Back-to-School HQ site.

AISD Device Checkout Guidelines
Introduction
In order to provide each student access to modern educational resources and learning opportunities, Angleton ISD will issue each student a Chromebook or other personal technology device for use during the school year. Student devices are an integral part of the learning environment at Angleton ISD, facilitating access to educational resources at any time and any place, and preparing students for work and school beyond K-12.
Student Responsible Use Guidelines
● Keep your device safe and free from damage.
● Bring your device to school every day.
● Take home your device every day.
● Charge your device at home before coming to school.
● Follow the guidelines of the student code of conduct and student handbook.
● Report damage or problems immediately to your teacher or campus administration.
● Always keep your device in your possession; do not loan it or leave it unattended.
● Do not mark on your device, do not remove inventory tags.
● Always keep your device in a backpack or case when traveling.Important Information for Parents & Guardians
- Student devices are required daily for schoolwork. Failure to bring the device to/from school in working condition will negatively impact student learning and grade
- Devices are property of Angleton ISD and must be returned when Your student’s campus will communicate dates and deadlines for device returns.
- Students that withdraw from Angleton ISD for any reason must return the device to the campus
- Families are responsible for loss, damage, theft and associated fees (see page 2 for details).
- Civil or criminal penalties may apply if a device is not returned and/or fees are not
- Technical support is available on campus and remotely via our student helpdesk (see page 3).
- Internet access assistance is available for families in need (page 3).

Fees
AISD families are responsible for fees associated with loss and damage of district property. Civil or criminal penalties may apply if a device is not returned and/or fees are not paid.
- 1st accidental damage incident - Student reports damage to campus library. Loaner device may be issued if available and damage fee(s) will be applied to the student account. - $30.00
- 2nd accidental damage incident and subsequent incidences - Student reports damage to campus library. Loaner device may be issued if available and damage fee(s) will be applied to the student account. - Full repair/replacement cost listed below
- Loss - Report immediately to teacher/librarian or campus administration. Technology may be able to remotely track the device, but this is not guaranteed. - Full replacement cost listed below
- Theft - Report immediately to teacher/librarian or campus administration AND a police report must be filed and provided to the campus within 72 hours. - If a police report is filed, damage fee is waived. With no police report, theft is treated as loss and full replacement cost applies.

Home Internet Access
Families in need of assistance with home internet access should contact their campus or visit the district’s Online Learning handbook. Examples of assistance potentially available include:
- Hotspots issued from AISD (limited availability, based on need)
- AT&T Access
- Offers internet service to SNAP participants at rates starting at $5/month with no contract or installation
- Comcast Internet Essentials
- Offers internet service to SNAP and other public assistance participants at rates starting at $10/month with no contract or installation fees.
- Local churches, businesses, and libraries may offer Wi-Fi connectivity that is open to the

Procedure:
- Parents/Students will drive to the front of the school and in line with the drive-through. (We will have staff members ready to assist parents/students.)
- Staff members will collect the Chromebook, hotspot (when applicable), and any other information needed and deliver it to the parent/student.
- Cars will leave campus via the Northeast light.
- If a parent arrives and has multiple students in different grades they will be allowed to pick up Chromebooks for each of their students.
- Parents in the car line need to stay in the line until they have collected their student’s Chromebook.

Angleton Junior High
Chromebooks and/or Hot Spots distribution will take place in the 6th-grade car rider pick-up location. (Downing St. Entry)
- All back to school documents must be completed in Skyward before being issued a Chromebook. If forms are complete, schedules and computers will be distributed.
- Please be sure to read the guidelines for Chromebook distribution.
- Please wear a mask or one will be provided.
Schedule Pickup - 5-7 p.m. each evening except Aug 7.

Parents of siblings may pick up all Chromebooks in one distribution session.
Masks will be required and a hand sanitizing station will be set up.
If needed before the start of school, a make-up distribution day for Kindergarten - 5th grade will take place on Wednesday, August 12th.

- Stations will be organized for parent documentation needing to be filled out, with sanitation after each station use.
- Student bags that were not picked up at the end of the school year will be distributed, a representative from transportation will be present to issue Smart Tag and transportation rules/procedures documentation.

- Parents will enter and exit through two separate cafeteria doors.

- Parents of siblings may pick up all Chromebooks in one distribution session.
- Masks will be required and a hand sanitizing station will be set up.
The back door will be used as the entry point, a path will be marked with social distancing increments along one row of tables, volunteers will work at stations designated according to check out procedures along the row, and parents will exit through the stage-side cafeteria door.
Along with Chromebook distribution, student bags not picked up at the end of the school year will be distributed and car rider tags for the upcoming school year will be available. -

Westside Elementary
ALL STUDENTS WILL NEED TO COME AND CHECK OUT A CHROMEBOOK

- If you have multiple children, you may pick up chromebooks for all your children on the same day.
- Chromebook Pick up will be in the front drive.
- Just drive up, and we will bring the chromebook to you. You will need to sign a form when we issue you the chromebook.
- You are required to fill out all “Back to School” paperwork in skyward prior to us issuing you a chromebook. If you haven’t completed the paperwork, we will have you park and come into the building to complete the paperwork.
- Please be sure to read the guidelines for device distribution.
- We still have remaining bags from the end of year locker clean out. If you haven’t gotten your items from the end of last year, we can distribute them when you pick up your chromebook.
- We will also be accepting any library books that weren’t turned in last year.
