  • FACE COVERINGS

    For the safety of everyone, staff, students, and visitors will wear masks. We will allow a few mask breaks throughout the day where we will ensure social distancing.

    TRANSPORTATION

    Bus transportation will be available to eligible riders. Students will have their temperatures taken prior to boarding the bus, and masks will be worn. We are encouraging parents to drop off and pick up their children if possible. A FastPass will be provided by the AISD Transportation Department for bus riders.

    SYMPTOMS / NURSE’S CLINIC / ISOLATION AREA

    If a child has fever when he/she enters the building or becomes sick throughout the day, the student will be secluded in a classroom and monitored by a staff member until the parent/guardian arrives to pick him/her up.

    ARRIVAL

    Morning session students may enter the building as early as 7:30 am. Students are not permitted to sit in cars after 7:30 am and may not congregate outside or inside the building. Students will walk directly to their assigned seats, where we will take their temperatures and administer hand sanitizer. Students who arrive after 8:00 am will be marked tardy and must enter through the front office. Students will be socially distanced in the building during arrival time. Afternoon session students may enter the building at 12:00 pm but are not required to arrive until 12:15 pm if they are not eating lunch. These students will follow the same guidelines as morning session students.

    VISITORS / DELIVERIES

    There will be no visitors permitted on campus unless there is a scheduled meeting. Receptionists will help parents who need to check out a child throughout the school day. All visitors will be asked to wear masks, take their temperatures, and sanitize their hands. All visitors will wait for their children in the security vestibule area or in the front office if there are more than two unrelated people in the vestibule. For safety reasons, “outside” food deliveries will not be allowed, and parents will not be able to bring outside food to the schools.

    BREAKFAST 

    All students will be provided with the option of eating a free breakfast in their classrooms this year.

    CLASSROOMS

    Teachers have set up classrooms so the students will be socially distanced. Students will not share supplies or work areas. Classrooms will be sanitized throughout the day by the teacher and in the evenings by the custodial staff.

    STUDENT SUPPLIES

    Students will need to bring spiral notebooks and pens or pencils, and we will not allow students to share. Students must report to school every day with a fully-charged Chromebook. Students will not be allowed to bring personal devices for use during the school day. Students must use their school-issued Chromebooks on campus.

    BUILDING / HALLWAYS

    There will be signage and markings that indicate social distancing throughout the building.

    HAND-WASHING / RESTROOM BREAKS

    Only one student will be allowed in the restroom at a time. Every student will have his/her own personal restroom pass that will be used if he/she needs to go during class time. Students will hang their restroom passes outside the restroom door. The students will be given hand sanitizer throughout the day.  

    WATER BOTTLES

    Students will not be permitted to drink directly from the water fountains. We ask that parents send a water bottle daily that can be refilled. The water bottle must have an unbroken seal when the student enters the building. Or, if it is a reusable bottle, it must be empty when the student enters the building. We will fill the bottle at school.

    LIBRARY

    Students will sanitize hands upon entry and upon exit from the library. Only five students may be in the library at one time to check out books. All students must be socially distanced while visiting the library.

    LUNCH

    All students who choose to eat lunch will eat in classrooms. All students will receive a free lunch. Parents may send a lunch with their child. For safety reasons, no lunch deliveries or visitors will be allowed.

    DISMISSAL

    Morning session dismissal is at 11:45 am if students are not eating lunch on campus and is at 12:00 pm if they are eating lunch on campus. Afternoon session dismissal is at 4:00 pm. All students will remain seated at their desks until they are individually released to ensure social distancing. Students may not congregate inside or outside. Staff will monitor to ensure social distancing.

    SAFETY DRILLS

    All safety drills will continue to be practiced throughout the school year, but students will maintain six feet of social distance.

    MEET-THE-TEACHER AND ORIENTATION 

    For safety reasons, we will not have an in-person Meet-the-Teacher evening. Teachers will contact students and parents by phone to ensure that they are ready to begin Online Learning on August 17th.

    INSTRUCTIONAL SETTING
    Parents may request to change a student’s learning model, and those requests will be processed according to the following timelines:

    Initial request to go from Online Learning to On-Campus Learning will be processed within 5 days. Those students who make multiple requests to change from Online Learning to On-Campus Learning will be required to wait until the end of the nine-week grading period. 

     Requests to change from On-campus Learning to Online Learning will be processed within 1 school day.

     Starting on Monday, August 24, PACE students may learn on campus every day or by following an A/B schedule. If parents do not want their children to learn on campus, those students may continue to work from home. Each Friday, we will offer remediation to students who are behind or who need extra help. We will require students who are not successful learning remotely to work at school. Students who start the year learning remotely may have to attend the morning or afternoon session when they return to campus depending on the numbers of students in each session.

    COMMUNICATION
    Parents need to make sure that they keep their contact information in Skyward updated. There exists a possibility that we may need to have a classroom, a campus, or the entire school district resume Online Learning for an extended period of time, and we want to make sure that we have the most updated information on file to reach parents as soon as possible. by appointment only

    Reopening Plan:

    August 17:  FIRST DAY - All students participate in Online Learning.

    August 24:  Students may work remotely or choose to come to school every day or on the A/B Schedule.

    A Schedule - Monday and Wednesday on campus / Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday online

    B Schedule - Tuesday and Thursday on campus/ Monday, Wednesday, & Friday online
