Summer camps that are located at a local college or university are a great way to get young athletes to see what it takes to compete at the collegiate level, and to visit college campuses and get a feel for what life will be like after high school graduation. College camps are usually very large, often times athletes will spend the night on campus and it is fully encompassing, as they eat and sleep on campus. Often times campers get to meet college players, or be coached by college players.
Here are links to summer camps at local colleges and universities:

These summer camps are a great way to receive skill specific coaching from local club volleyball programs. You will not have to drive super far to get to them (as they are around the Houston area) and you will get more one-on-one attention with these camps than you might at a college camp. They are a great way to see if you might be interested in joining their club volleyball program, and to develop your skills to get ready for your local school's tryouts in August.
Here are links to summer camps that are ran by local club volleyball programs. I tried to include hyperlinks that would take you straight to a registration page or helpful information about the camp.

Club Volleyball Information:
What is club?
- Club volleyball refers to USA Junior Olympic (JO) Volleyball, which is a national competitive volleyball network designed to provide training and playing opportunities for young pre-college athletes.
- Club volleyball is an avenue for players age 10 (and even younger) to 18 to receive advanced training and competition on local, regional and national stages.
- Volleyball clubs compete under the same rules laid out by our national governing body: USA Volleyball.
- Club Volleyball typically runs from January 1st to Mid-March.
- Players are primarily placed on teams based on age: 12U, 14U, 16U, etc.
- Players are also placed based on their skill levels within each age group although some more experienced players may be allowed to play in an older age division.
- Club volleyball is an excellent way to improve a player's skill level and give them an opportunity to play competitively.
*Overall, it is a great way for athletes to increase their skills, get to play with girls from other districts, and be seen by college coaches and get recruited for scholarships.*
Here are some top club volleyball programs in the area. I recommend researching the programs. Who have they gotten scholarships for? What is their coaching like? Is this program going to help my daughter increase her skill level? Take a close look at the programs because often times what is closest to you may not be the best club for your child, so it is important to do your research. Please contact me if you have questions about any of these programs or need help picking!
