Welcome to the Angleton Independent School District Parent Guide to Google Classroom.
This resource will allow you to access learning materials and assignments from your child's teacher and the school district.
This resource will also be used to track attendance during online learning.
Before you can access Google Classroom you will need to know what your student's ID and password.
In Angleton Independent School District student IDs are used for usernames
The 6 digit ID is followed by the @ symbol then cats.angletonisd.net.
The password is the last 4 digits of the student's social security number followed by the @ symbol, capital A, lowercase isd.
You can access Google Classroom through the Angleton Independent School District website.
First, go to angletonisd.net and then from the homepage move your mouse cursor to the student and Families tab.
Once your mouse cursor is there you'll see a dropdown menu. Look for the Google Classroom link.
You can also access Google Classroom from many personal devices such as laptops, tablets, or sometimes even gaming systems.
To access Google Classroom from a personal device, go to Classroom.google.com and click on "Go to Classroom".
Next, you'll need to enter your student ID, that's the 6 digit ID number followed by @cats.angletonisd.net.
Finally, you'll need to enter your password.
In AISD student passwords are normally the last 4 digits of the social security number followed by the @ symbol a capital A, and lowercase isd.
The easiest way to access Google Classroom is through a district-provided Chromebook.
Once you login to the Chromebook using a student ID and password, you will see an icon for Google Classroom at the bottom middle of the screen.
The icon for Google Classroom is a green square with a white silhouette in it.
Once you click on this icon, you'll find a home screen for Google Classroom.
On the home screen for Google Classroom you'll see the classes your student is enrolled in.
These classes can be rearranged by clicking on the title of a class and dragging it and dropping it to rearrange the classes.
Now let's take a look around Google Classroom and explore some of the pages and features available to you.
To access a specific Google Classroom, you'll need to click on the title of the classroom.
Once you click on the title for the classroom, you will be taken to the stream page.
The stream page has announcements posted by the teacher in chronological order.
That means the newest announcement will be posted at the top of the page.
Next, we have the Classwork page.
The Classwork page has assignments posted by the teacher. You will start with assignments like attendance tracking.
These are short forms that must be completed every day to track student attendance while online learning.
Next, you'll find important information like need to know contact information, schedules for Google Meets, tutorial times, and other important things.
You can look on the left-hand side of the screen to see all of the topics available and select a specific topic to jump to that topic.
Once you jump to that topic, you'll be able to see all of the assignments that are posted within that topic.
If you want to go back to all topics, simply click on "All Topics" at the top of the page.
From the Classwork page, you can also view a list of assignments by clicking on "View Your Work."
When you click on "View Your Work," you'll be taken to another page where you have a list of assignments as well as due dates.
You can also access Returned ITems that may have been graded or missing assignments by clicking on the labels on the left-hand side of the screen.
To get back to the Classwork page, click on the title of the Classroom and then Classwork.
From this Classwork page you can also access your Google Meet that's tied to your Google Classroom and view a Google Calendar with assignments listed by date.
These are some of the most important features of Google Classroom.
They allow you to see the assignments, assignments by the due date, assignments that have been returned, and access contact information for the teacher.
If you have finished working in one of your Google Classrooms and you would like to switch to another Google Classroom for another content area or another teacher simply go to the top left corner of the screen and click on the three-line (hamburger) menu.
Once you click on the menu then select Classes and you will be returned to the Google Classroom home screen.
From here you can select the title of any Google Classroom and you will be taken to that classroom.
If you need technology assistance during online learning please use the Anlgeotn ISD helpdesk for students.
To access this resource go to angletonsid.net/techhelp.
Once the form is completed your request will be sent to the person who can best help you with the issues you are facing.

Clever is the single sign-on platform for most AISD digital learning programs. Learn how to access the Clever portal and help set your child up for success this year!
-
Clever is the district's single sign-on platform for most Angleton ISD digital learning programs.
Students and teachers have single sign-on access for their online learning programs and resources such as Think Central, Waterford, and Edgenuity to name a few.
Apps are conveniently categorized and they dynamically update so that students only see the apps that are relevant to their campus and grade level.
There are several ways to access the Clever portal.
One way is by using the Chromebook shortcut icon located on the app shelf at the bottom of the Chromebook screen.
Another way is to go to the Angleton ISD website, hover over students and families with your mouse cursor and then choose Clever login.
Last you can simply go to Clever.com in your Chrome browser and click on Login as a student.
Any way you choose to access Clever this screen will pop-up.
Students will click on the rainbow G login with Google and then type in the credentials if necessary.
Students who have signed into their Chromebook with their district-issued credentials are able to simply verify their account and then they will be entered into the Clever portal.
They may then check their name in the upper right corner to make sure that it is indeed their account.
In the Clever portal please note that not every app will allow for automatic sign in.
In these instances, your child's teacher will provide them with the information they need to proceed into the learning site they are needing to use.
If you have any questions about the Clever portal or need help after viewing this video you may fill out a form at www.angletonisd.net/techhelp.
