We're looking for mentors!
Angleton ISD is excited to launch the REACH Mentoring program.
REACH stands for Rise, Educate, Advise, Care and Hope. With this program, AISD hopes community mentors can build lasting, meaningful relationships with their mentees that will help set students on a path for success throughout their lives.
REACH matches a caring adult with a student on the brink of success with a primary focus on relationship building rather than tutoring. When students are connected with mentors dedicated to seeing them succeed, they are able to reach new goals in the classroom and outside of it.
Students are recommended by their campus with parent permission. Mentors are matched with students based on personality, interests, and schedule. Mentors meet with their student for 30 minutes one day a week at the campus during school hours.
Mentors must attend at least one training session before being matched with a student. The first mentor training sessions will be held from 9 a.m. - noon August 5 and from 1-4 p.m. August 6 at the AISD Administration Building.
