Heartland Elementary School

Earlier this afternoon, a fire alarm at Heritage Junior High went off, and all students and staff were immediately evacuated from both HJH and Heartland Elementary. There was no fire or smoke. It was a faulty smoke detector at HJH, which triggered the alarm to go off. The Angleton Fire Department was present, and along with members of the Angleton ISD Maintenance Department and Security Team, they checked and cleared the building. The students and staff at HJH and Heartland have been allowed back into the building to return to school as normal.
