Earlier today, a student at Angleton Junior High set off a firecracker in a classroom. No students or staff were injured, and the classroom was evacuated immediately. The entire campus was not evacuated, and no evacuation alarms were sounded. The incident was contained to the one classroom.
The district’s discipline protocol will be followed in accordance with the student code of conduct. AISD does not tolerate behavior such as this that could threaten the safety of our students and staff, and we ask parents to talk to their children about the importance of proper behavior at school and the serious disciplinary actions and even criminal actions that could result from students misbehaving or breaking the student code of conduct.
