🌸 Today was planting day in Mrs. Rodriguez's class! 🌱
They had so much fun planting flowers together. The students practiced their measurement skills by carefully measuring the soil and water needed for each flower. It was a perfect mix of hands-on learning and fun! 💧📏🌼

Ms. Herbst's science class took part in Saving Sam! Students worked in teams to use problem solving skills within the scientific method. Only paperclips could be used to get a life preserver, the life saver, onto Sam, the gummy worm. Teams collaborated to try to be the first to save Sam followed by great discussion on the process.

This week, PreK and Kindergarten students visited the library where they discovered that books & learning can be fun. They picked a reading buddy, selected a book and got busy reading! While not independent readers yet, our youngest learners are building the foundation. We are learning how to hold a book, turn pages, read words from left to right and use good manners with both their buddy & their book.
Wildcats are readers and we are #UniquelyFrontier.

On Friday, Ms. Herbst’s 5th grade scientists took flight! ✈️✨
With paper, creativity, and a little scientific method, students folded their own planes out of various types of paper and tested how far they could soar. Different materials, different designs, and lots of discoveries and observations along the way! 🌟💜

On Fridays we wear purple! Thank you Frontier Family for a great first week!

Important Message from Angleton ISD - AHS Drumline Competition Incident
Today, our Angleton High School Percussion Drumline was at a competition at Pasadena Memorial High School. There were 43 AHS students at the competition along with two band directors and a percussion technical consultant. At the end of the competition, as the band directors and technical consultant were leaving the school, an elderly male who was standing in the hallway took out a handgun and fired a shot. The technical consultant was hit in the shoulder and was transported to a Houston hospital. The victim never lost consciousness. The AISD percussion director left the scene unharmed and immediately got all AHS students on the bus. All AHS students were safely accounted for and have made their way home to Angleton safely and without further incident. Our information is that the elderly male was apprehended by Pasadena police.
AHS will have counselors on campus first thing in the morning on Monday when school returns to provide support for the students involved in this incident and any other students affected by this incident.
We are deeply saddened by this event, and we wish to commend the Angleton ISD staff for their quick and decisive action in keeping our students safe.
Our current information is that this is an ongoing investigation in which AISD will fully cooperate. Our hearts and prayers go out to all those affected by the incident, and we will continue to provide the needed support for our students and staff.
