AISD Hosts “Meet the Driver” Event Ahead of New School Year
Families encouraged to attend to prepare for updated bus routes and receive Smart Tag passes
Angleton ISD invites families to its annual Meet the Driver event on Tuesday, August 12, giving students and parents the opportunity to meet their bus driver, receive their Smart Tag pass, and get important bus route information before the first day of school.
The event will take place at the AISD Transportation Center, located at 1910 N. Downing, and will be held in two sessions.
🕘 Session 1: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
🕔 Session 2: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
With the opening of Heartland Elementary and Heritage Junior High this year, many bus routes have been updated. The district encourages all families to attend and gather their child’s bus number and transportation details before attending campus Meet the Teacher events.
“This event helps ease first-day nerves and ensures our students are ready to ride,” said Mike Harmon, AISD Transportation Director. “Meeting the driver, seeing where the bus stop is, and getting your Smart Tag in advance makes the transition smoother for everyone.”
AISD’s Smart Tag system helps monitor student ridership, improving safety and communication between families and the Transportation Department.
