ANGLETON, Texas — The Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT) has named Angleton ISD a CTE District of Distinction, recognizing the district for high-quality career and technical education (CTE) programs that prepare students for college, high-skill careers, and the workforce.

CTAT’s CTE District of Distinction program recognizes Texas school districts that demonstrate strong CTE leadership, innovative programming, alignment with regional workforce needs, and positive student outcomes. Districts are evaluated on rigorous criteria including industry-based certifications, robust career pathways, active industry partnerships, and hands-on learning practices that strengthen student preparation for high-demand fields.

"This recognition reflects the hard work and commitment of our CTE educators, administrators, students, and community partners," said Superintendent Dr. Alicia Press. "We are immensely proud of the opportunities our programs provide Wildcats to build practical skills, earn industry credentials, and prepare for success after high school."

Angleton ISD offers comprehensive CTE programs designed to connect classroom learning directly with postsecondary education and regional workforce opportunities. Through state-of-the-art facilities, strong partnerships with local industries, and a wide array of career pathways, ranging from health sciences and trade technology to business and agriculture, Wildcat students gain hands-on experience, earn valuable industry-based certifications, and participate in impactful work-based learning opportunities.

The Career and Technical Association of Texas created the CTE District of Distinction program to showcase districts demonstrating excellence in career and technical education and to highlight best practices that strengthen CTE programs across the state.
