Perseverance

Welcome to this month’s edition of the CKH Monthly News! As we navigate the heart of the school year, our campus focus has shifted toward a powerful and essential LeadWorthy characteristic: Perseverance.

Perseverance isn't just about "toughing it out"—it’s about the intentional choices we make every day to stay connected, stay focused, and lift one another up. This month, our students, teachers, and staff are working together to move beyond simply "getting through" the year; we are choosing to finish strong.

What Perseverance Means for Our Campus

On our campus, perseverance is strengthened by what we choose to notice and reinforce. We are challenging our leaders and teachers to shift the focus from what might be missing to what is growing.

By naming what is working—celebrating small wins and naming the progress we see in our classrooms—we build the collective confidence needed to tackle the challenges of a busy spring semester. What we consistently recognize is what our community will continue to focus on.

The Power of Affirmation

Perseverance grows best in a supportive environment. This month, students are learning that they have a vital role in keeping their peers motivated. We are teaching students how to give specific, meaningful affirmations.

Instead of a simple "good job," students are using affirmation starters to recognize the character and growth they see in others. When encouragement becomes a habit, it creates a culture where no one has to persevere alone.

"Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other."
