Angleton ISD is excited to announce that it has lowered the tax rate to under a dollar. At the August meeting, the AISD Board of Trustees approved the 2026-2027 tax rate as $0.9969, and this is the first time in decades that the district has had the tax rate set under the dollar mark.

The district has steadily decreased the tax rate since 2018, lowering it another 2.5 cents for the 2026-2027 year from $1.0219 last year. The tax rate has decreased by an overall 45.83 cents since the 2018-2019 year.

"In Angleton ISD, we take our role as financial stewards very seriously," AISD Superintendent Dr. Alicia Press said. "While rising property values can impact overall tax bills, our Board and leadership team are proud that we have been able to lower the district's tax rate again this year.
