Attendance Zones

Rezoning Information

Posted Wednesday, May 8, 2024

As we prepare to open two additional schools – Heartland Elementary and Heritage Junior High – in the Fall of 2025, Angleton ISD has been developing drafts of new attendance zones to accommodate the new schools and the continued growth in the district. These new attendance zones would not go into effect until the 2025-2026 school year.

Again, these are only preliminary drafts of new attendance zones. As we move forward in our decision-making, we value the input of our AISD community. We ask parents, students, staff and community members to review the maps of the potential new attendance zones and complete a brief survey/form for us to collect input and allow our community to ask questions about the changes to attendance zones starting in the Fall of 2025. Both the maps and the link to the survey/form are below.

The survey/form will close on Friday, August 30. We understand that people will make comments on social media, but we ask that you use the survey/form provided to give us your input and ask questions. Only the information received through the survey/form is the input the district will consider moving forward.

After we receive and consider the feedback from the surveys/forms, we will make appropriate changes. Final attendance zones will not be complete until November of 2024.

Proposed Transfer Changes for the 2025-2026 School Year

Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, AISD is presenting a potential plan where all students will be assigned to their newly defined zoned campuses, regardless of their previously attended school and regardless of their grade level. The proposed plan would end all transfers unless students meet one of the following conditions:

  • are a child of an AISD employee

  • are a current student who is in a Special Education program assigned to a specific campus

  • are a current student who is in the Dual Language Program at Westside Elementary School

  • are a current student in the AISD Swim Program at Angleton Junior High School

  • are a sibling of a current student in any of the above specific programs (Special Education, Dual Language or Swim)

NOTE: Angleton ISD does not provide transportation for transfer students.

NOTE: Angleton ISD will follow all AISD Board Policies, state guidelines and federal guidelines as they apply to student enrollment.

The following chart shows the student enrollment projections (as of June 2024) for the preliminary draft zones:
