Second grade met with the master gardeners today to learn all about what plants need to survive! They made hats with materials attached to represent all of the resources needed to grow!

Mrs. Deckert's Kinder class had fun learning about high and low notes and what has a steady beat in music class! When Mrs. Allen played a high note on the piano, the students raised their scarf high! When she played a steady beat- they marched to the rhythm. Such a fun music class!

This week, our 5th graders are reading "Wheelchair Sports: Hang Glider Wheeler Dealer", an article about the invention and impact of sports wheelchairs. Today, our 5th grader Grace had the opportunity to share her variety of sports wheelchairs with the class. She showed her classmates the different types of wheelchairs and explained how they are designed to support athletes in various sports.

Mrs. Kinman's PK class voted on a surprise today! They were happy to learn they were making Super Silly Slimy Snails to learn all about the letter S!

📚 These 5th graders are excited about the Texas Bluebonnet Reading Challenge! 📚 All 3rd, 4th & 5th graders at Central Elementary have the opportunity to participate in the Texas Bluebonnet Award Program. Each year 20 books are chosen by the Texas Bluebonnet Selection Committee to be nominated for this award. Students who chose to participate must read at least 5 of the Bluebonnet books and pass the AR test with a 70% or better to be eligible to vote for their favorite book in January. Students can also read 15 Bluebonnet book (and pass the AR test) to be eligible to go on the Bluebonnet Movie field trip! Final day to take AR tests on the Bluebonnet books is JANUARY 22, 2027.

You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man! Kinder went on an adventure today exploring the school looking for the elusive gingerbread man! In the process they learned all of the important locations of the school and many smiling faces along the way! Stay tuned for more pictures! We are excited for the first day of school tomorrow, August 18th! Our doors will open at 7:40, and parents may walk students to class, or to the cafeteria for breakfast if 1st-5th and need breakfast. All drop off will be at the front doors on Locust Street for PK- 5th grade, so please do not block the right side of the road nearest the school. You may park along Anderson Street, on the opposite side of the school on Locust St., or any other side roads near the campus as long as you are not blocking traffic.
