Our Teacher Champ this past week was Mrs. Fawehinmi! She and her students role played what to do when a new student comes to school and looks a little sad. Thank you for showing our students the power of empathy and reminding them "We are BETTER TOGETHER!"

We are so excited to see everyone at Open House from 5:00-6:30! This may be one of our most exciting yet! Mrs. Curtis, Communities in Schools representative, organized a Resource Fair!
There will be free goodies from different organizations, but also a food truck to purchase dinner from, nothing Bundt cake in case you'd like to purchase dessert for yourself or treat a teacher!
In addition, our amazing PTO will be in attendance with information on how to join and also selling school shirts and merch!

Empathy in action. Mrs. Fawehinmi & some of our NS Second Graders explored what empathy looks like, sounds like, and feels like as they acted out a new student joining their classroom and looking a little sad.
“It’s okay to be sad. WE’ll figure this out together.”
That "WE" is powerful! Empathy isn’t about fixing someone’s feelings—it’s noticing, caring, and making sure they don’t have to navigate a hard moment alone. Northside Wildcats capture hearts by creating an environment where students learn to see one another, support one another, and understand that every feeling has a place.
