The fall Book Fair is in full swing. Students can shop anytime from 8:30-3:00 until Thursday. The book fair is open until 12:00 on Friday. Grandparents that come to eat lunch this week, we invite you to shop during your visit.

2nd grade had a blast changing the physical properties of matter with this week's experiment!

Today, our third graders explored solids, liquids, and gases through hands-on demonstrations. Students explored that solids have a definite shape, while liquids and gases take the shape of the container.

Friday was the 1st Attendance Pop Party for the 25-26 School Year and the 5th Graders were the Winners.
Anchored in Excellence is the Southside Theme this school year and Mrs. Matheson, Communities in School site coordinator, let students know that all students needed to anchor themselves here at Southside everyday. They need to POP in everyday to school.

What a fantastic way to wrap up a great week of school! Our amazing administration surprised the teachers with some fun "dirty" sodas as we CRUSHED another week of teaching and learning. The students got in on the fun as well. The "Woot-Woot" wagon made its rounds dropping off treats for the students too. It’s great to see everyone enjoying the end of the week together.

Mrs Matt's 4th grade science classes had a fantastic time with a science challenge called "Saving Fred"! This hands-on activity requires students to use their problem-solving and collaboration skills to help a gummy worm (Fred) get into his life preserver and onto his boat. It's a fun and engaging way to practice scientific inquiry and teamwork.
3rd graders had a great time measuring, testing and recording physical properties of matter today during science. Students worked cooperatively and had a lot of fun at the same time.

Thank you Southside PTO for the amazing breakfast treat this morning. All of the donations were greatly appreciated and the teachers and staff really enjoyed being spoiled this morning.
Ms. Josey, Southside Principal, used the time students were waiting for the bus to read a story to them. She loves interacting with our students and making them feel loved.

This allows us to ensure a smooth transition for all students, especially our youngest learners, as they get used to the cafeteria environment and their lunch schedule. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize a safe and organized start to the school year.
