Earlier today, contractors were working in the Heritage Junior High building and purged the gas line to some of the dryers. When they purged the line, it created a smell of gas in that area of the building. It was not a gas leak; it was just the line being opened to purge the gas while they worked on the dryers.

Students and staff were not in any danger, but there was a smell of gas. Students and staff in that area of the building were moved to another area where there was no smell while the building was being aired out. Students and staff are now back in their regular classrooms.
