Earlier today, smoke was coming from an air conditioning vent in a classroom in the Angleton Junior High building, causing the fire alarms to go off for the campus. There was no fire, but smoke was visible in the classroom. The smoke came from an issue with a burnt blower motor in an air conditioning unit.

Students and staff at AJH were immediately evacuated when the alarms were activated and as Angleton ISD staff and emergency personnel investigated and evaluated the situation. The Angleton Fire Department was called out and has cleared the campus for students and staff to return to school as normal. Students and staff are back in the building.

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s campus principal.
