Important Message for Parents of AHS & AJH Students

Wednesday, February 11, 2026

Angleton ISD is aware of the student-led walkouts in protest of ICE from schools occurring in our area, and we are aware of talks among some of our students about a possible walkout at Angleton High School this Friday, February 13. AISD does not support any student walkout, and we are working diligently to make sure students understand the safety concerns and consequences of such an action. In addition, we will have extra law enforcement at AHS on Friday to help ensure safety and to help minimize disruption to the school day.

A student walkout can not only disrupt the learning experience, but it can also create major safety concerns when students leave campus without permission. Our main priority and responsibility is to keep our students safe and not to disrupt the educational day. We realize our students have choices, but there can also be consequences. Students who choose to walk out will be given an unexcused absence and may be charged with truancy. While we must address student attendance and behavior, our goal is also to help our students understand the importance of taking responsibility, making informed decisions, and following campus procedures that follow the Student Code of Conduct.

Parents, we are asking for your help to partner with us to continue the important learning process that occurs every day in your children’s classrooms. Also, talk with your children about the potential safety concerns and consequences that could come from such an action. We thank you for helping us reinforce school expectations and for supporting a safe learning environment for all our Wildcat students and staff.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact your child’s principal.
