The safety of our students and staff continues to be our top priority, and we continue to work to increase safety and security measures throughout our schools. This morning we utilized our OPENGATE screening system at Angleton High School as a way to enhance those safety measures.

OPENGATE is a security monitoring system that checks individuals as they enter the building. The process did delay entry times by about 45 minutes this morning, but we cleared everyone as they walked through. We want to assure you that we will not count any student tardy due to their delay in entering through the OPENGATE system, and school is operating as normal.

We will get faster the more we continue to use OPENGATE and work through the procedure of getting students through the system. Thank you for your understanding as we all work together to enhance our safety features to keep our schools as safe as possible.
