AHS Wildcat STEM Academy

The Wildcat Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Academy mission is to provide students a rigorous curriculum focusing on STEM and 21st Century skills to prepare them for success in college, career, and life. The purpose is to increase student achievement while creating a new workforce of problem-solvers, innovators, and inventors who are self-reliant and able to think logically.

For students focused on a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics career:

  • Advanced level coursework (Advanced Placement and Dual Credit Courses)

  • Hands-On Learning via Project-Based Learning

  • Earning college-level credit while in high school (minimum of 15 college hours)

  • Working with engineers and technical professionals and real-world job experiences

  • Experiencing College Readiness, STEM Career and Industry Events, and field trips

  • STEM based extracurricular activities

    • Robotics Club

    • Workforce in Training (WIT)

    • HOSA, Health Organizations Student Association

    • Society of Hispanic Petroleum Engineers, Jr. Chapter (SHPE)

    • Skills U.S.A.
