New legislation from the 89th Texas Legislative Session requires parents and guardians to provide annual consent for certain school-based services and activities.
This includes:
Health Services - such as first aid for minor injuries, vision and hearing screenings, and other routine services from the school nurse. (Parental consent is not required for medical emergencies or those required by law.)
School Counseling Services - short-term, school-based counseling for emotional or behavioral support and social-emotional learning
Without consent, school personnel may not be able to provide these important services for your child.
We ask all parents and guardians to log in to Skyward Family Access and complete two forms: the Health Services Parent/Guardian Consent and the Notice of and Consent for School Counseling Services. We ask that these forms be completed as soon as possible, but they must be completed by Friday, September 5.
