BOND 2025 - If the bond is approved, the tax rate is projected to remain the same as the current rate of $1.0219 through 2031 and begin lowering in 2032—or sooner as new neighborhoods are built within the district. The chart below shows the maximum tax rate expected.
If approved, with the 1¢ tax reduction set by AISD in August and the increase in the homestead exemption of $140,000, voters will experience an estimated tax savings of about $400 depending on the value of the homestead.
Without the bond, the tax rate is expected to decrease by 4¢ in 2027 resulting in an additional tax savings of about $80 for the year (depending on homestead value).
AISD remains committed to sharing accurate information so the community can make informed decisions. The district is asking voters to consider foregoing the additional tax savings in order to replace Angleton Junior High, Northside Elementary and Southside Elementary.
Remember, if you are registered to vote and live within AISD boundaries, you can vote—even if you don’t live in the City of Angleton.

AISD to Implement OPENGATE Detection System at Wildcat Stadium
Angleton ISD is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all students, staff, families, and community members who attend school events. As part of this commitment, a new security measure will be in place beginning with upcoming events at Wildcat Stadium.
The OPENGATE detection system will now be utilized at all entry points into the stadium. This system is being implemented to increase safety for venue visitors by enhancing security screening while also allowing for a smoother, faster entry process.
About OPENGATE
OPENGATE is a state-of-the-art weapons detection system designed to identify potential threats without the need for guests to empty their pockets or bags. Unlike traditional metal detectors, OPENGATE provides a more efficient and less intrusive screening experience, ensuring shorter wait times and improved crowd flow.
How It Will Be Utilized at Wildcat Stadium
All visitors will be required to pass through the OPENGATE system before entering the stadium.
Spectators should be prepared to walk through the detection system in an orderly manner, following the guidance of event staff.
While OPENGATE allows most personal items to remain on your person, security staff may request additional screening if the system detects a potential threat.
Guests are encouraged to review Angleton ISD’s stadium guidelines regarding permitted and prohibited items to help ensure a smooth entry experience.
Angleton ISD appreciates the community’s support and cooperation as we take proactive steps to ensure the safety and security of all who attend our events.
