Four of our talented students have officially signed on to work with Community Health Network (CHN), and two others will be joining the incredible team at UTMB Health. We're also thrilled to share that one of our Phlebotomy students has secured a position with UTMB! Several of our CNA/PCT students have already landed jobs, showing the strength of their training and dedication. On top of that, many of our CTE students were honored with their graduation cords — a symbol of their hard work and success in their career pathways. 🌟 Angleton ISD is excited to announce Coach Cindy Rubio as the new, full-time Associate Athletic Director for the district. 🌟 AISD Superintendent Phil Edwards says the move to have Rubio as a full-time associate athletic director will benefit the entire AISD Athletic Program, especially as the district continues to grow and expand athletics. “Just like the rest of Angleton ISD, our athletic programs are growing,” he said. “With the addition of two new schools, including Heritage Junior High, our programs and the number of students participating will continue to grow as well. In her new role, Coach Rubio will help us meet the demands of that growth. Our athletic programs have had continued success over the past few years, and we are committed to building on that success so that as many students as possible can continue to excel in the sports they choose. The addition of the full-time position and, specifically, Rubio in the position will allow us to continue to meet the needs of our students and our community.” Rubio has a strong track record of success in the district as the head of the Ladycat Softball program and has already taken on more leadership responsibilities, helping both girls’ and boys’ sports in her additional role as the AISD Girls Athletic Coordinator since 2017. Rubio will step down as head coach of the award-winning Ladycats to take on her new role. In her time as Ladycat head coach, she accumulated 399 wins, making it to playoffs every year since 2010. The team racked up nine 1st places in District, 12 shows in Area, seven shows at Regionals with four in the Region Finals, and one in the State Semi-Finals. Additionally, in 2019, the team took the UIL State Championship. In her career, Rubio was also named District Coach of the Year nine times, All Southern Brazoria County Coach of the Year three times, and Texas Sportswriter Coach of the Year in 2019. Coach Stevi Simpson will make the move from assistant softball coach to head of the softball program at Angleton High School. “I am proud of the career I have had as the head coach of our Ladycat Softball program, but I am excited about my new position and being able to help all our athletic teams and programs reach even new heights of success,” Rubio said. “Softball will always have a special place in my heart. Last week, 5th graders from our elementary schools toured the CTE building! These future high schoolers got a glimpse into all the amazing opportunities that await them — from exploring the Wildcat Bistro and Robotics lab to checking out JROTC, the Ag Barn, and so much more. Students even got some hands-on experience, sparking curiosity and excitement about the programs they’ll soon be able to join. The tour was all about showing them what’s possible and helping them dream big for high school and beyond!

In 2022, AISD administrators, staff, students, and community members came together with a shared purpose—to shape the future of our district. Through collaboration and commitment, they developed a Strategic Plan - AISD Achieve 2026 - that continues to serve as the foundation for our mission, vision, and goals. Since then, regular follow-up meetings have ensured we stay on course. Most recently, community and staff members received an exciting update—and we’re proud to report that everything is on track for full implementation by 2026! We are grateful for the continued support and input from our AISD family. Together, we’re building a stronger, brighter future for all students.

Central and Northside students recently soared to new heights thanks to the Southwest Airlines Adopt-A-Pilot program! We were thrilled to welcome Pilot Jo Giles from Southwest Airlines, who brought real-world aviation experience into our classrooms. At Northside, he taught a 4-part series to the 4th and 5th grade APAWLO classes, while Central's entire 5th grade got to participate in the exciting lessons! Students explored the science of flight, navigation, careers in aviation, and more—all while being inspired to dream big and aim high.

For several years, Westside has proudly welcomed Central’s bilingual Pre-K students for a special tour of their campus—a fun and exciting way to introduce them to their future school and help ease the transition into kindergarten and the Dual Language Program at Westside. This year’s tour was extra special, as it marks the final one of its kind. Beginning next school year, the bilingual Pre-K program will be located at Westside, bringing our youngest learners under one roof even earlier!

History came to life today at Central Elementary’s 4th Grade Wax Museum Exhibit! Students chose influential historical figures to represent then, wrote speeches, and created wax-figure displays—complete with a “button” to bring their characters to life! Their costumes, speeches, and performances were so well done, you’d think the real figures had stepped into the room. Incredible job, 4th graders!

The school will operate as normal. -------------------- Attention Parents of Southside Students - Currently, power is out at Southside Elementary. The school is open. We are in contact with Texas New Mexico, and they expect power to be up and running by 8:00 or 8:30 a.m. We will keep you updated.

Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) is a program and process that focuses on strengthening student connectedness and building healthy relationships between students and staff.
