Attention Parents and AISD Community
On February 19, executive search services representatives from the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) will be in our district to visit with Angleton ISD parents and community members. Their goal is to collect input from our stakeholder groups to help build a leadership profile for the next AISD superintendent. They are seeking your very important feedback on the skills and qualities you believe are needed in the superintendent position. The information you provide in this meeting is incredibly important and valuable.
The open public meeting for our AISD community will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 19 in the Heritage Junior High cafeteria.
You should not attend this meeting with the TASB representatives if you:
- Are the current superintendent of Angleton ISD
- Have applied for the superintendent's position in Angleton ISD
- Are considering applying for the superintendent's position in Angleton ISD

For the 2025-2026 school year, 90 AISD educators are expected to qualify for official TIA designations. This inaugural group represents the first phase of the district’s TIA rollout, meeting rigorous state standards for classroom performance and student growth in currently eligible categories.
The 2025-2026 cohort includes:
- 30 Master Designations (The highest level of recognition in Texas)
- 45 Exemplary Designations
- 15 Recognized Designations
In a commitment to directly investing in its staff, AISD will pass 90% of the state-funded allotment directly to the designated teachers. This provides a substantial annual financial boost ranging from $4,000 to $16,000 per eligible educator.
"TIA allows us to further invest in the people who make our schools great," Superintendent Phil Edwards said. "Any opportunity to increase teacher compensation is a win for our students and our community."
To honor these 90 individuals and their impact on student success, Angleton ISD will host a Special Reception and Awards Ceremony on April 6, 2026.
Congratulations to our first TIA cohort. We are achieving excellence because we are Wildcats!

WEATHER UPDATE - AISD officials continue to monitor the weather and will continue to monitor the weather into Monday evening. We continue to assess our district facilities and the potential for issues with road conditions in the area. We will communicate no later than 3:00 p.m. tomorrow about school on Tuesday, January 27.
Please continue to monitor the AISD website and social media for any updates and please continue to stay warm and safe.

Due to the continued forecast of potential winter weather and possible unsafe travel conditions for our students and staff, all Angleton ISD schools will be closed on Monday, January 26. Any information about school start times for Tuesday, January 27 will be communicated at a later date.
Coaches and sponsors will communicate with students and parents about extracurricular activities for next week.
Please continue to monitor the AISD website and social media for any updates.
Stay warm and safe!

Angleton ISD officials are monitoring the cold weather in the AISD area, which shows a potential for freezing weather starting this weekend. At this time, AISD will follow its scheduled plans for the next week, and we will keep you updated on any changes.
When making decisions about closing school for cold-related weather issues, AISD officials examine the weather conditions to ensure travel to and from school is safe. If there is potential for snow and ice that could create unsafe road conditions, then we will review the situation and make appropriate decisions concerning canceling school. In the event of cold and rainy conditions that do not create ice or hazardous road conditions, we will continue school as we know our schools can offer safe and warm facilities for all our Wildcats.
Please continue to monitor the AISD website and social media for any updates.
Stay warm!

At AISD, we are grateful for our dedicated Board of Trustees who volunteer their time and work tirelessly to serve our students, staff, and community. Their leadership and commitment help shape a strong future for every Wildcat.
Join us in thanking our school board members for their service and dedication! 💜🐾
