We are excited to announce that Angleton ISD is a 2024-2025 Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase Schools® District award winner! Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) is a program and process that focuses on strengthening student connectedness and building healthy relationships between students and staff. To earn the CKH National Showcase Schools® District award, the AISD team has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to cultivating a safe and supportive learning environment. “We are dedicated to creating schools and classrooms that are positive and safe and where all our students and staff feel valued and can achieve success,” AISD Superintendent Phil Edwards said. “Through CKH, we are working to develop a district-wide culture that supports and nurtures meaningful connections and collaboration so all our Wildcats can learn and thrive.” In addition to winning the district award, the following campuses have been named Capturing Kids’ Hearts® National Showcase Schools: -- Angleton High School -- Angleton Junior High School -- CATS Academy -- Central Elementary School -- Northside Elementary School -- Rancho Isabella Elementary School -- Southside Elementary Finally, three AISD campuses are in their first year of implementing the CKH program and have also earned the CKH Rising Star award, which is the highest achievement they can earn in their first year: -- Brazoria County JJAEP -- Frontier Elementary School -- Westside Elementary School “I am so proud of all our students and staff, and these district and campus recognitions from CKH are a testament to their hard work and dedication to excellence and why Angleton ISD is such an outstanding school district,” Edwards said.

Second grade students at Central Elementary had a blast during their special Recycle Parade! Each student built their own robot using recycled materials from home—proving that with a little imagination, trash can become treasure. Way to go, Central Stars! 2025-2026 Transfer Information - Open Enrollment Angleton ISD will accept a limited number of new out-of-district transfer applications for the 2025-2026 school year beginning Tuesday, May 6 through Monday, May 20, 2025. All applications will be reviewed by AISD’s central office and finalized by June 5, 2025. Families will be notified of transfer approvals or denials once the review process is complete. Nominations are open for the 2025-2026 Angleton ISD Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame! The deadline to nominate is 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5. You can submit a nomination online by going to www.angletonisd.net. Click the nomination form that is in the dropdown under the Community tab on the website. The Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame recognizes AISD alumni who have demonstrated a high level of success in their respective fields of endeavor and who have made a significant and prominent contribution through achievement, service and leadership. Guidelines: * Nominees must be recognized alumni of Angleton ISD (Angleton High School or Marshall High School). Nominations of deceased alumni will be considered for induction. * Nominees must have graduated at least 20 years prior to the recognition. * Nominees must meet the criteria for recognition as stated in the purpose. * Current Angleton ISD employees and serving board members may not be nominated. *All nominations are subject to verification.

This week more than 100 local seniors signed during BCPC's Career Signing Day to begin high-paying, high-demand careers in the petrochemical industry directly out of high school. Angleton High School led with 13 students signing on! Dr. Chris Boleman, president and CEO of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, delivered the keynote address, praising students for their ambition and drive. “Their courage to chase their dreams powers our community’s future,” Boleman said. In March, the Angleton Alumni Association hosted their annual Handbags & Gladrags event — a fun event dedicated to raising funds for student scholarships. A huge shoutout to the talented students from Culinary, JROTC, and Floral Design who lent their skills and helped make the event a success! To show their appreciation, the Alumni Association recently visited the CTE building to personally thank these amazing programs — and presented each group with a check to support their continued excellence.

Brazoria County and AISD do not presently have any cases of measles, but we would like to make sure our parents and staff are informed. Two doses of MMR are recommended for optimal immunity, with the second dose given no sooner than 28 days after the first. For most everyone, these two doses were given on a recommended schedule at age 12 months and 4-5 years. It takes 14 days after receiving the MMR vaccination for the development of immunity to the measles. If fully vaccinated there is no recommended action at this time. Our Westside Elementary first graders had an egg-cellent time at the "Eggstravaganza" hosted at the CTE building! This fun-filled event, sponsored by the amazing AHS JROTC, featured exciting outdoor activities, relay races, a special photo op with the Easter Bunny, and so much more! A huge thank you to AHS JROTC for creating such a memorable experience for our little learners.
